When you give to Reclaim Resources, you are supporting a movement to reclaim the future of the Lutheran understanding of Christianity by reclaiming the Reformation for all generations. The results have the potential to ripple throughout the Lutheran church. The development of a theologically sound worship and devotional resource for individuals and congregations will help nurture the faith life of Lutherans of all ages. It will help Lutheran reform movements offer a proactive resource in shaping the ministry of seminarians, first-call pastors, and long-time pastors who seek a scriptural and confessional worship and devotional resource. It will also give individuals and families a devotional tool that draws on a rich devotional tradition based on Scripture, catechism, and hymns.
The Project’s Needs
In addition to your prayers, the Reclaim team seeks your financial support. Annual costs for the development of RECLAIM: Lutheran Hymnal for Church and Home and subsequent hymnal resources are estimated at $130,000 per year. Here are a few of the things your prayer and donations make possible:

Fundraising Campaign: “Gideon’s Garrison”
The fundraising plan is called “Gideon’s Garrison,” which is modeled on the biblical story of Gideon. Facing a Midianite army that appeared “like grasshoppers for multitude” (Judges 7:12), Gideon was given the challenge of attacking the Midianites with only 300 soldiers. Reclaim began with a challenge to a small group of people and no funding and existed on voluntary donations. Now the committee feels that the Lord has set before us a ministry for the renewal of American Lutheranism, the far-reaching end of which we cannot see at this moment in time.
Therefore we envision a Gideon-like company of 300 people (or more), who, as “Gideon's Garrison,” will each give $100 (or more). They will thus sound their trumpets and light their torches for the success of this mission and hymnal. Through the centuries the people of God have always been amazed at how much God accomplishes with so little, and we believe He can do it again!
